Back from the LNS :)

I had the day off yesterday and went to the LNS of course! I got some Crescent Colors Threads for this Shepherd's Bush Freebie (below) and the linen for my McMary's Farm. Also found this adorable chart, I LOVE it. It's of Cannon Beach, Oregon. Where we are almost every weekend in the summertime! I couldn't resist of course. And the pink thread was so pretty, I am thinking I'll do a biscornu with it. I've found some free charts that I really like, so I'll attempt that in the near future.

I can't wait any longer, I must stitch this! :D I just got on www.stitchingbitsandbobs.com and ordered my Weeks Dye Works floss for it, they are only $1.50/skein vs. the $2.00, so I couldn't resist of course ;) I ordered some other pretty ones too while I was at it. I got a few other charts too, some for exchanges and gifts so I can't tell you what :( But I will eventually right?

I am 1/2 way done with an exchange, it is looking so nice, I have been enjoying working on it.

More jewelry & my husbands Christmas present

I made another necklace last night :) I love it! These are my favorite kinds, just the random small beads. I bought beads that are a more maroon tone as well, so I’ll make another necklace similar to this with those.

I found some PERFECT charts for upcoming exchanges. I am so excited to stitch these in the next few months for people. These exchanges are great, I am stitching things I would not regularly do, and have really begun to like.

I found out my sewing machine can be repaired in a matter of days… so it’s just going to have to get to the shop… in a matter of days ^_^ I think I can get it there this weekend.

When we went to Utah for Thanksgiving we stayed with our good friends. He had a car in his garage that his father in law had built from a kit, and wanted to sell it. So... my husband bought it, it's a 1929 Mercedes Benz Gazelle kit car. Isn't it fun? In a Cruella Deville sort of way :) We'll have fun with it this summer, we can't drive it in the winter that's for sure!

My brother and his wife come on Thursday, and stay for a few days, then it’s Christmas! I even get a 5 day weekend. I am very excited about it, I can relax and enjoy this fun time.

Jewelry and Mermaids!

Since I am pretty new to this blogger, I changed to the new one last week. And now when I log in it doesn’t remember me, it’s kind of annoying :P Oh well, there are worse things that could happen I suppose. Also, my blog rolling doesn’t tell me when someone has updated like it usually does. Maybe they have some kinks they are still working out.

I had a great time last night with my neighbor. We made jewelry! She had quite a large assortment to choose from. This was one of the sets I made, isn’t it pretty? We are going to Joann’s tonight to look at their beads. Like I need another hobby. I worked on my Mermaids a tiny bit, got more beading done, it’s kind of a pink bead that I’ve been doing, it’s gone down to her tail now. Can you see it? I scanned this picture, and it washed it out quite a bit. It sure looks pretty. I started a Shepherd’s Bush needleroll called Beehive as well. Not much progress, I should get more done on it tonight. That is… if I am not making more jewelry!

My fabric

Here is the fabric I bought in Utah, I am getting ready to cut it out. I was sewing my mom's quilt tonight, and my machine is really acting weird. I think it's broken. It just did it with no warning too, so I don't know what to think? I guess I'll have to take it somewhere to have them check it out :( See! Just when I want to quilt my machine goes dead, guess I'll have to cross stitch then :D *oh darn*

New Quilt Idea...

I bought a load of fabric when we were in Utah, and I have been searching for a good pattern to do for this fabric. It’s all country/warm colors, I got about 10 fabrics, ½ yard of each. I found this pattern http://www.quilterscache.com/A/AutumnTints2Block.html, on www.quilterscache.com, I think this is what I’ll use, but make it more scrappy, with variations of blocks. I’ll just keep the darks and lights separated so that you get the tone. I think it’ll be very pretty. I will take a picture of the fabrics to show you what I have. I still need to finish my mom’s quilt, but I can cut this quilt out in the evenings, when I can’t sew (my machine keeps the kids up!) at night.

I haven’t touched my mom’s quilt for awhile, and I miss sewing! I need to sew some more I think. I love my cross stitching, but sewing needs to be done too. I can’t make up my mind! :D

Mermaids WIP & Gift

Okay, here is the WIP of my Mermaids, I should be waiting to post on Friday, but too bad, they are early :D This is with the stitching complete... well except some backstiching, but I am not counting that as all of the X's are done! LOL :)

The beading has begun!

I also finished up some dish towels for my mother in law for Christmas. She just re-did her kitchen with apples and a country theme, so these should fit in nicely. I used that iron on transfer stuff to get the fabric to stick to the towels and then blanket stitched around them. They turned out cute, I may do these again. I also got her a thread cutter, you know those little round ones with the razor on the inside, she thought that was really cool, so I picked one up for her. She is another reason I love cross stitching so much :D

Well, I am *almost* done with the stitching on the mermaids. I just have to do the backstitching around their tails, and that is it! So, I started the beading, because I just couldn’t wait any longer on it :) It sure looks nice, and it’s rather tedious, it takes time to get those little beads on the needle and all that. But, I am getting faster at it as I go.

Do you guys do a full X through the bead, or just a ½ X? I’ve been doing a full X to make the bead straight… just curious.

We got our Christmas lights up outside on our house, they are so pretty. I love this season, it’s just so welcoming. Tomorrow night I am hosting a baby shower, so no stitching again for me *pouts*

By the way my Christmas dinner for the church turned out so nice, it went very smoothly and everyone enjoyed themselves. What a relief! It was worth all of that work to make so many people have a memorable night.

Stash Enhancement and Ramblin'

I’ve been so bad, I went and enhanced the stash AGAIN, like I really needed too! I got online at Stitches N Things, they have a lot of charts at 50% off, so I picked up about 5 of them that I couldn’t say no to. At least they were on clearance right?? ;) Here are 3 of the 5, I can’t find one of the pics… that’s alright.

I found a Shepherd’s Bush EZBoard, and they sent me all of the Shepherd’s Bush freebies! I love it. I have been searching for some of them for quite awhile, so they sure are kind to do that for me. I can’t wait to do some of them.

I haven’t stitched at all this week, I am having withdrawls, and it made me buy more stuff :D LOL! Anyway, I wanted to thank you all for your kind comments, you guys are great! I love this blogging stuff… I am addicted now. I’ve updated my Wish List, and my “Upcoming Projects List” as well, and added a birthday ticker thing. I now need to figure out how to change the background stuff.

More Mermaids next week, I am anxious to get them done. I bid on a Z-Lap Stand from K’s Creations on Ebay, I’ll find out tonight if I win. I need a scroll frame now, as my wrists are giving me pain. I am 26, I thought I was invincible! Apparently not :P I need to find the scroll frame for it if I do win. I do mostly small projects anyway, so nothing too big. My Mermaids and Four Seasons are my huge ones, and that is as big as they get, and not very often do I do them.

Mermaids of the Deep Blue

I really haven't worked on these much this week, I have been planning a huge dinner for our church, 80 people are supposed to attend, I am in charge of getting everything together. Eeek! It is this Thursday, so it's almost here now. Needless to say, my stitching was put on the wayside. Which is okay... since I worked on them so much on vacation :) I was able to finish the right mermaids back fin, and start the fin in the middle, so it's coming along smoothly.
Also this weekend we got our tree!!! I am really happy with it. First off, we've NEVER had one this big, and so that made it fun, and secondly, I actually had enough ornaments to cover it up :) Oh! I just realized I have two I stitched that I need to add :D Yay! This tree is 11 feet tall, isn't it pretty?

We had to move one of our couches out of the room, and rearrange the whole living room to make it fit. That is okay, it is worth it :)
