After consulting my BFF Becky on how to quilt my Hexagon quilt, we came to the conclusion that stars should be outlined. Of course that would look good right??? When I came home and considered that even more, I realized just how much it would require moving, stopping, moving, stopping, readjusting... oh man! This is why I love free motion quilting, it's not nearly so involved. As much as I wanted to just stipple quilt this top, I did the right thing and am outlining those stars. With pink thread!
I'm almost half way done... my shoulders are killing me! Off to do some yoga, maybe that will loosen me up. I think quilting this quilt totally counts as a workout in itself. :P

Beautiful, Heather! I think you were right in going with quilting the stars. It's going to be lovely and I can't wait to see the finished product. You, my friend, as such an inspiration to me. Keep up the great work! HUGS
That quilt is beautiful, your quilting pain is definitely going to be worth it!
Hope your shoulders are feeling better! This is just beautiful and it sound like the way your quilting it is perfect! Can't wait to see the pic of the kids holding it up!!
Beautiful quilting and hexagons, how did you find rolling up the whole quilt under the arm of your sewing machine? I've never made anything (as yet) bigger than a baby quilt so am nervous about my next adventure!
machine quilting is hard work! the quilt is coming along beautifully!
Really gorgeous!!! I love the colors :-).
It sounds like you have a few sessions of strength training in front of you!
Love this quilt!! I also love Tula Pink! I met her by chance in Missouri. I was checking out a small quilt shop in a town with less than 1000 people. And the shop is owned by her mom and she was working there (when she wasn't designing)! I was a bit star struck! :)
I love your quilt! It's really fun and happy! I made one in a similar pattern... quilted it myself and really hated it when I was done. I am sure that you are on the right track with the quilting and that it will be gorgeous!
Beautiful quilt.
