So, my birthday is next Friday April 27th. This class happens to be on the 27th and 28th... so I think that means the stars have all aligned and that I am just supposed to go to this class don't you think?? I registered and am super excited about it. Best Birthday present ever!
I have never taken a "formal" quilting class before like this. I've learned from friends, or techniques from my quilt guild. Have any of you taken a quilting class, and if so, what did you think about it? This class we will be making her quilt pattern called Triple Crown. It looks great doesn't it? I have loved Sandy for a long time, so I look forward to meeting her and learning from her. I will let you know how it goes!
Now to go pick out my jelly roll :-)

That is the CUTEST quilt!
I'm in the 4th quilt class. The first one was hundreds of years ago when we lived in Japan.
Since we've moved to AZ, I decided to get back to quilting so took a beginner's class because I knew so much had changed and I wanted to learn the new terminology, plus I didn't know anyone in the area and used it as a social outlet.
My next class was how to make a large totebag and I used it to learn to read patterns.
I'm in an intermediate class now that meets twice a month for 3 months. This one is because I suck at triangles and there are a lot of blocks with triangles she's showing us.
I have no intention of taking another class after this one for technique purposes. The rest will be because I like the quilt.
I have a really good time at every class and learn from the quilters almost as much as from the teacher.

Hi Heather, I have taken 3 quilting classes now - all to learn since I don't know anyone locally that quilts... The 1st was a 2 hour class where we literally learned how to thread a machine and stitch a straight line. The 2nd was a 3 hour class where we made 1 nine block square. Now, I'm in a 3 week class that meets for 3 Fridays for 3 hours. I have LOVED it as I've always wanted to quilt, the teacher is great and the other woman in the class is fun to work with too. I am learning SO much! We had homework between the 1st and 2nd class but this week we don't so I've started a 2nd quilt just to practice (and thought of not quilting for a week was already depressing!!) (I put up some new pics on my blog.) I would like to take more classes as the come up but it does get to be a little pricey so I'm hoping that I can learn some from a local Quilt Guild and from some books I've taken out of the library. I hope you LOVE your class. Can't wait to see your beautiful quilt. Your work is amazing and I am SO inspired by everything you make! Meredith
You lucky duck! Both to live so near Hollyhill and taking Sandy Klop's class! I have taken many, many quilt classes and I'll tell you, I always learn some amazing new tip. You'll love it!
I have taken lots of quilting classes over the years and have always believed that if I learned just one thing in a class then it was worth it. I am sure you will learns quite a bit in your upcoming class. I love that design and would probably need a class to figure it out. :D
I will be in a class on the 27th as well....a cross stitch class in Nashua, NH at Celebration of Needlework!
