I received my Ornament from Marie!

Wow, I love it! I received my USEBB ornament from Marie (Time to Sew) today. I was so excited, it came in a little bag filled with goodies. And this gorgeous Shepherd's Bush ornament. I am in love :D It is from the JCS 2006 Magazine. I have this set lined up to stitch, so this is perfect. Thank you so much Marie.

The Back of it.All of her generous gifts, how kind! I love the WDW thread, and the candle made it all smell so good. Thank you thank you!!!!

A few Questions for you Stitchers…

I need a stitching stand, you know the scroll frame, on a stand. My wrist has been hurting lately from holding my projects for so long at one time. Can you tell me what model/brand you have? I want to get one, and need a basis of where to start!

I finished my SnowCatchers, and made it as a wall hanging. I have been looking for those small decorative hangers, with the clips (clothespins) to hang it from. I haven’t been able to find any? Any ideas of where I could find one?

I hope to hear from you. And THANK YOU so much for your kind comments on my Mermaids and Ornament. I love you guys for that!

Home again Home again Jiggety Jig :)

Our vacation was a lot of fun! We made it home safely, without too much bad weather. The kids were so good in the car, it was a good trip. I was able to go to a lot of cross stitch and quilting shops while I was there, which of course made me enhance my stash :D I have bought several more patterns and fabrics. I’ll take pictures this week to show them. I do have an update on my Mermaids of the Deep Blue. I worked hard on them on the long drive there and back. Here they be!

I am almost done with the stitching… I would say another 2-4 hours on them, and then I can add the beads. I am sure beading will take a long time, there are so many of them. Isn’t it pretty?

And I hear my exchange for the USEBB Christmas ornament was received… and she loved it! Yes! I was so happy to hear that. I had Seniorita Stitches to make an ornament for. I had a lot of fun doing this. It was my first time making an ornament this way, I used cardboard inside of it. :) I also sent some extra fun goodies. It is by The Workbasket from the JCS 2005 Ornament Magazine.

Well, vacation in Utah has been a lot of fun so far! I've been able to work for 5 hours on the Mermaids on the car ride here, and I've been shopping at some great quilt shops as well. I will go to a cross stitch shop tomorrow too :) I will upload photos of my progress and my enhanced stash when I get home yay!

I need to fill my Pay it Forward!

Hi! I still need names for Pay it Forward :D Even if I signed up under you, you could sign up under me too, that would be great! Email me: oregonsurfers at gmail dot com.

I'd also like to say give me 365 days to get them done, I'd seen others had wrote that. I agree, it'd be nice to have some time to find the right thing to do!

Thanks for all of your wonderful comments on my mermaids, you are so sweet :) It really gives me a lot of motivation. You all understand what hard work it is to do these projects.

We leave tomorrow for vacation, and my 4 year old daughter is not feeling well. She tells me, as she is given medicine... that she's feeling better now, she wants to go on the trip too! Little sweetheart. I am sure she'll be better in no time.

Friday Mermaids WIP

I finished my ornament for an exchange last night, I think it turned out great! It was the first time I had made one that way, so I was pleased. I hope the receiver of it loves it :) It was fun to make for someone else, I can’t wait to do more exchanges.

Here is my promised WIP of my Mermaids for Friday. I got quite a bit more done on the righthand Mermaids tail. It sure is pretty to look at. I can’t post a photo of it next week Bunnyhead5000, but I will when I get home from my trip :D

Here is my WIP of the Mermaids. I worked quite a bit on the right Mermaids tail, I scanned it this time and the colors showed up much nicer. I’ll keep working on these I think, I am enjoying them. Bunnyhead5000 suggested a SAL, sounds fun to me :D

Pay it Forward

I signed up under BunnyHead5000 for the famous Pay It Forward project, so here goes:

The first five people to respond to this post (via the comments section) will get some form of “art” made by me. After you comment, please email me your snail mail address (oregonsurfers at hotmail dot com ) along with your blog address (if you have one) and some information about your likes and dislikes across the board (not just stitching) as well as anything else that might help spark my creativity. Think of it as something to look forward to getting in the mail!

There is a catch, of course, the way this works is that if you sign up, you have to blog this as well and continue sharing.

I saw this on LiveJournal as well, it just seems like a lot of fun… so I am going to offer it up.

Had a nice weekend, I am almost done with the ornament I am making for the exchange. I just have to make the part to hang it. It looks so cute though, I love how it has turned out.

I worked more on the Mermaids for several hours. It is looking so pretty! We are going to be taking a trip soon, so I will bring them to work on in the car, I’ll get a lot done that way. However, there are so many ornaments I want to make, I am considering bringing those instead since they are so much smaller.

Carol, I got the fabric from you, it is so pretty! I love the sparkly yellow, and the blue one is great too. I think that blue fabric would have looked great with the Mermaids I am doing right now. Maybe for another mermaid :D

We are just trying not to get washed away, the rain here has been horrendous.

Snow Catchers are done Woohoo!

The Snow Catchers by Fanci That:
I finally finished this off last night, I was really happy with it. I changed the fabric I had originally planned on, it had presents on it, and this snowflake one just seemed to fit it so much better.

I finished my Snowcatchers woooo! :D Now, I just have to make it into a wall hanging. It’s gonna be so cute.

I think after I finish my ornament for an exchange I am in, I’ll work on the Mermaids some more. They have been needing some attention. Unless, I decide to do more ornaments as gifts. I love making cross stitch ornaments, they are so fun. Here are two I have done recently. The one I am doing for the exchange will have much fancier finishing to it.

Snow Catchers

The Snowcatchers by Fanci That.
I saw this in my LNS a few months back, and decided I must do it. I have picked out the fabric that I'll use to make it into a wall hanging. I still have to finish the snow flakes around them, and add their button carrot noses. I really like how this has turned out, it was very easy to stitch too. :D I am happy I am close to having it done, then I can enjoy it this Christmas yay!

A case of the Mondays :P

Wow, what a Monday this has been, phew! I am glad it’ll be over in a few hours.

Updating hmmmm… well, I got a new computer at home I will be posting from now. I am so excited about that!

Progress on my mom’s quilt has been coming along nicely. I worked on it for a few hours on Sunday. I have 80 blocks I have to sew into rows of 8. I have 5 of the rows done, when they are all done, I can sew those together for the top! That is big news! I’ve been working on this quilt on and off since July, I can’t wait to get it done.

I joined an ornament exchange, so I started that. It’s going to be very pretty. I am using overdyed/variegated threads, which is a first for me, and wow what a difference! I am in love with the rich colors. My snowman “Snow Catchers” is almost done, I have to finish up the snowflakes and then I’ll make it into a wall hanging. I found some cute fabric to make it with. It’ll look so good when it’s done. I’ll get some pictures up when I am done with them.
