Fabric love, Shangri-La

It's all about Shangri-la fabric today. Shangri-la is a fabric line from Moda that came out a few years ago. It is designed by the 3 Sisters. Pretty much everything they design is just gorgeous. This fabric has been my favorite line of theirs. I pulled out the quilt top I finished back in October. Tonight I am going to baste it, so I can get this off of my WIP list. Here is the backing, isn't it neat?? It's a big map.
And I started another quilt using more of the Shangri-la fabric... I had a fat quarter pack of it, so I had lots :) The quilt pattern is called Summer Porch, and it's by Eleanor Burns. I have to say, I am so impressed with this book. It's spiral bound for one thing, and has lots of very thorough pictures and instructions. It's been so easy to make. There will be white sashing in between the rows and a white border. So summery!
Off to get some dinner, and then basting... my back is going to be sore tonight haha :) Have a good evening!

I never ever get tired of seeing projects from this fabric line. I still have a few pre-cuts I'm saving (hoarding) for special projects. I love love LOVE the quilt top you're planning to baste! Can't wait to see it quilted! Looks like the next shangri-la quilt is off to a big start.

Oh pretty, pretty fabrics.
I am a big fan of Eleanor Burns. Her directions are so good.
You know, I often take books for quilting and cross stitching with a hard edge into our local copy store, have them cut the backs off and have them spiral bound for a few dollars - less than $5 and I can keep them open when I'm working.

Heather, you never cease to amaze me, girl!! I love this one, too. I've never done anything by Eleanor Burns but will have to look for this one. Thanks for the enabling. Lovely fabric choice! I just love me some Moda! :)

Oh, I looooove that EB book! I have made a lap size version of "Pink Lemonade" and twin size version of "Twin Sisters" - and they went together so nicely. And some day I'm definitely going to sew summer porch - I have a stack of Red Rooster fabrics I'm contemplating... Your Shangri-La version is definitely a keeper!!!GORGEOUS!!! Keep up the great work!
